About Crowns & Bridges
A dental crown is used to repair teeth that are badly damaged teeth within the need for an extraction or dental implant. Once in place, they fully encase the whole visible portion of a tooth that lies above the gum line.
Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge consists of two or more crowns attached to abutments (teeth or implants on either side of the gap). These abutments are bridged by a false tooth/teeth in between called pontics. Bridges can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials.
